Ziamond Cubic Zirconia Engagement Ring

While we here at Ziamond know the cost vs. benefits of choosing a Ziamond cubic zirconia engagement ring over a naturally mined diamond, there are couples getting engaged that still do the traditional diamond thing. While the overall spend for couples’ weddings have increased, they have pulled back on the spending for their rings.

Almost every aspect of wedding budgets increased for American couples in 2011, except for their engagement rings. According to a recent survey from TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com.
Research shows that in 2010 the average spend on a genuine diamond engagement ring was $5,329. While in 2011 that spend declined to $5,130.  The entire budget of a wedding averaged a cost of $27,021 in 2011 up from $26,984 in 2010.
Additional interesting facts from this survey:
– December seemed to be the most popular month couples got engaged.
– Average length of engagement: 14 months
– Average age: brides, 29; grooms, 30
This survey captured responses from nearly 18,000 U.S. brides, married between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2011.
